Flowers and Plants

In Shopart we have a large collection of paintings with floral subjects ranging from artistic reproductions of works of art from all eras to the contemporary period with paintings and fine art prints on canvas of modern floral compositions, suitable for any wall decoration. Flowers also means language of color: red petals, orange, colors that brighten and bring joy in our environments. Flowers in art also have a symbolic value, as in the case of animals: the rose, for example, is a symbol of love, martyrdom and purity, so in the religious theme paintings it is an attribute of Mary, of the Angels and of the souls of Paradise. When Jesus holds a red rose in his hand, it symbolizes passion and death on the cross. In the scenes of the Annunciation and Assumption another flower appears, the Lily representing fertility, beauty and spirituality. In Shopart among the artistic prints depicting plants we remember The Tree with its roots sunk into the ground and the branches facing the sky is considered in many cultures a symbol of the union between the earth and the sky and therefore between man and divine. In the iconography of art this is often understood as the tree of life or the tree of knowledge, the one that grew in the garden of Eden at the time of Adam and Eve reported from the Bible. Among the many masterpieces present, we remember the tree of life and the frieze of Stoclet by the Austrian author Gustave Klimt. But also artistic reproductions and canvas prints of other plants often used in many masterpieces of art, such as the depiction of the laurel, an evergreen plant typical of Mediterranean flora and often used in the kitchen. It was very sacred to the God Apollo and is a symbol of victory and glory, but also of great wisdom. It was used to crown warriors, athletes, but also poets. This symbolism on the laurels has come to the present day. I still remember that in modern sport the champions and winners of the competitions were celebrated with a laurel wreath.
