Romantic Art

Romantic Art developed in Germany and then spread to the rest of Europe between the end of the eighteenth and the beginning of the nineteenth century. The ideals of Roman art are, the new relationship between man and nature: nature is interpreted in a romantic key as the expression of the divine on earth, of which man is only a small manifestation. The main artists of romanticism are: John Constable, William Blake, Joseph Mallord William Turner, Johann Heinrich Füssli, Caspar David Friedrich, Ferdinand Victor Eugène Delacroix, Théodore Géricault, Francesco Hayez and others.
