Realism
Realism is an artistic trend developed in the second half of the nineteenth century in France and subsequently developed in the rest of Europe. The term "realism" therefore indicates the faithful transposition of visible reality into artistic representation. The greatest representative was undoubtedly Gustave Courbet but let's not forget the Italian Pelizza da Volpedo and Gioacchino Toma.
